Welcome to Meru Town in 2026.

    The Entry from Nairobi

The approach to Meru town, marked by a curve near the Kathita River, offers a spectacular view. Here is how it looks like in January.

    Nkubu in 2026

Before we get to see Nkubu in 2026, let’s look at Nkubu as I captured it in December 2025.

Jerusalem Street is well-tarmacked all the way from Meru-Nairobi Highway to Nkubu-Kionyo Road. Drainage is good, and businesses are thriving in this part of town that was once the unfrequented backside of Nkubu.

Looking at the junction at Consolata Mission Hospital towards Nkubu, motorists moving to and from the Nkubu-Mitunguu road make it a very busy area.

It gets busier towards the evening and one has to be careful while crossing this part of the road.

As of December 2025, the road from KCB Bank to Solution Sacco is in poor condition. It’s pothole-ridden, deteriorating, and needs recarpeting.

It’s the same situation with the road from the Main Stage entrance all the way to the Nkubu-Kionyo road. Potholes that fill with water when it rains, and motorists struggle to manouver it.

Boardering the Nkubu Catholic Church is a street that leads to the following schools: Nkubu Primary, Stella Maris Primary, Nkubu Day Secondary and St Pius X Seminary.

Sunday are chilled out. There are less people on the street, obviously because most of them are in church, and most businesses don’t open until afternoon.

I walked from MCK Nkubu Church to Total Energies and here is how it looked like.
